The 316 grade stainless steel is 3/8" bail is TIG welded to the 3" stainless steel shank (core). It is custom bent to fit the vessel's rail. It is generally 3" x 1/8", but can also be in 4" x 3/16" or even 1/4" 316 grade stainless steel. |

captain's specifications. |

A Stainless Steel Schaefer Cam Cleat is
thru bolted with stainless steel nylon lock nuts. The bolts are
10/24, 316 grade stainless steel; counter sunk flat head bolts. |

Notice the detail of hand stitching of the
leather between the two legs of the stainless steel bail. This done
with multiple strands of Waxed Sailmaker Twine in an "X" configuration,
joining the leather and sheepskin in a solid unit that will not open up
over time due to weathering. |

fenders that tend to swing a lot - such as ball fenders. |
