Who We Are
Mission
Statement Disappointed with corporate life, and a need to repair his own canvas Frank bought a sewing machine and figured out how to fix his canvas. Basically self taught in the art of marine canvas through his keen observation of what " works and what looks right" (a philosophy of N. Herroshoff ...that form follows function) customers were attracted to his creativity and problem solving abilities. Challenges always bring the best out in Frank; and Dockside Canvas thrived through good service and functional products--listening to his customers individual needs. This philosophy has continued into FenderHooks.Com. Frank holds a current 100 Ton Coast Guard ticket, cruises the Bahamas during the summer in his 37 foot sail boat, and encourages all beginners to live their dreams.
One area that seemed to be recurring was fender hooks. Who repairs them, Who recovers them, and finally, Who can custom fabricate them for my vessel? Dockside Canvas rose to the challenge and provided that service, but realized that when some of the work was "jobbed" out, time sensitive control was lost. Hence FenderHooks.Com was created to be a vertically integrated facility to handle the full spectrum of fender hook fabrication. Cutting, bending, punching holes, investigating the proper leathers that are best suited for the marine environment, and what products extend leathers longevity, what hardware works best, and how to properly fasten the hardware to the stainless steel core. |
